Dom DracuLuise

This is a very old dream whose date I do not remember. As such, I can only outline the specifics, not details, and some parts may be wrong by now as I've told this thing a hundred times.

Anyway. In the dream I was in what used to be the B&C, and which later became the Glen's supermarket. Before it became Glen's the layout and such were different; over in the fruits and vegetables section, the far back right corner of the store, they had these tablelike thingies for holding and displaying fruit. These tables were wide and roundish on the top, with compartments for the different fruit, and were supported by a narrower neck or leg--just one--before getting wider at the base. Somewhat like shallow champagne glasses, or mushrooms with upside-down tops. When I was a child I used to like to sit under these fruit displays like I was on an island under a palm tree or something.

Anyway, in my dream I was over in this area of the supermarket. I can't remember specifically but I seem to believe these fruit stands were there. I was just milling around, minding my own business, when I noticed an old man looking through the fruit...and somebody was sneaking up behind him. To my shock I saw that it was Dom DeLuise and...he was a vampire!! He had the black cape and fangs and everything! His arms were raised in the air and his mouth was wide open as he crept up behind the old man, who still obliviously examined the fruit. The poor old guy was going to be dead for sure!

Frantic, I yelled, "Look out!" I don't recall the old man even noticing my shout...but Dom DeLuise did! He turned and glared at me, and then started coming MY way! I panicked! I turned and started running like mad away from the fruit section...but for some reason the B&C was flooding...aqua-colored pool water all over the floor, at least several inches deep, maybe even deeper. It was so hard to run in that stuff! Still, I managed to splash my way over toward what used to be the Other Place, a fabrics and crafts store on the other side of the supermarket. I knew my mother was there, and I needed her to protect me from Dom DeLuise!

The opening into the Other Place appeared. Back when Glen's was the B&C, there was a sort of porch or...I'm not sure how to describe it, this little area between the two stores. There were actually three stores, I should point out; on the one side was the B&C, on the other was the Other Place, and in between the two, set back further and at a right angle to the two stores, was some other store whose name I can't remember, but they sold fancy clothing and accessories and such. This "porch" area had an exit leading straight out from the third store, with glass doors on the sides which led into the Other Place and the B&C. So the three stores shared this one exit area, and there was this space in between them all. Like I said it had glass doors here, and as I ran I could see my mother standing in this little glassed-in area, facing me, glancing from side to side--from the exit to the third store--with a puzzled look on her face. She was looking for me.

I screamed, "MA! MA!!" as I continued running...but she didn't even look my way, even though she was facing me...she just kept looking from side to side with that puzzled expression. And as hard as I ran, I wasn't getting any closer to her...and Dom DeLuise the vampire was getting closer and closer...

Yep, that was how that dream ended. I realize it sounds quite funny now, but when I had it it scared the bejeezus out of me. :)
