Hints Of Disaster

Yesterday at Ogrish.com (please do NOT go there if you are easily offended...truly I mean it) I found pictures of the jumpers from the World Trade Center. I'm ashamed to admit that this is something I have wanted to see. I can't explain why. Suffice it to say that there wasn't much TO see. I'm supposing, from that height, it leaves very little...

Anyway, the dream I had afterwards was morbid enough, without me going into specifics of what I saw in the photographs. So I'll leave the photos to the imagination and instead tell what I saw in my dream. In it, I was looking at a large photograph, picture, image of some kind...it's also somewhat like I stood on a rise above it, in real life, but it was still for the most part, which is why I believe it was an image. It didn't look anything like New York City. If anything I would have claimed it was California, though I don't know why. It was sunny and green with trees and winding streets rising way up, steeply, and curving around every which way. Part city, part park. I can't adequately describe it.

I started looking at the picture closely for signs of survivors. At first this was not supposed to be the World Trade Center, but then it was. The first thing I saw, off to the left, was a person's shoed foot sticking out from beneath some rubble. The rubble didn't seem out of place; everything in the picture was nice and tidy and sunny, and there were few people, but none were panicking. A very incongruous scene. For some reason it was hard to see this foot, but see it I did. (One of the real-life pictures I saw was similar.) Then there were some black people, possible gang members or some such, standing around it, one perhaps looking at the camera. They seemed to be under an overpass. All was as it should be. Nobody was panicking; it was like the foot was just a foot, nothing more.

I started peering around for more hints of something wrong. I found one in the upper right corner, on a high road winding off into the side of the picture, and this was when I began to get anxious. It was a car driving toward the viewer, and something had struck the roof, a large piece of debris, denting the driver's side roof in. Then I saw the driver of the car, an elderly male in a business suit, very esteemed looking. He was slumped to the side with a bloody gash in his head, eyes closed. I knew he was dead, killed by raining debris. This made me very anxious, and I looked away. But now another clue that things were not right appeared. There was another car further down the road, also facing the viewer. No passengers or driver were visible, but there was a large ugly bloodstain on the back of the driver's seat. I had to look away again.

I feared that if I looked even more closely, the beautiful scene would gradually grow more and more sinister as the hints of disaster emerged one by one. Very disturbing.

This is the first WTC dream I've had in a while. I had other dreams while I was napping.

Mini Guineas

All I can seem to remember of this dream are little rodent things, like gerbils, but they looked more like mini guinea pigs. SOOOOO cute! I tried to hold one, but it squirmed or something; then I wanted to hold another that looked so nice and gray and velvety, like a chinchilla. But I think somebody else was holding it, and I felt upset. They were adorable.

Long White Halls

There was one dream where I wandered through somebody's house...long open white-painted hallways with clothes and such littering the floor...but I can't recall much more than that.
